Week 1: model a final project
Do you walk out of your house forgetting your keys, telephone and wallet? Do you forget sketchbooks at restaurants? Your laptop power supply at coffee shops?
I forget everything all the time.
What if your pockets would remind you that you left your keys in the bathroom? Or your bag would complain if you left your wallet behind?
I propose to tag all personal belongings with rfid tags, and then to build flexible, washable rfid readers into pockets and bags. This way, your clothing has some sense of what you should be carrying with you as well, and it can remind you if it thinks you are forgetting anything.
To make the flexible rfid readers, I will need to make flexible antenna that preferably span the size of the pocket or bag. I will need to make these flexible and robust, possibly out of conductive fabric or perhaps embroidered in conductive thread. It needs to be portable, therefore battery powered.
